Using the Transcript

How to Use the Transcript

The transcript screen is your workspace. It combines audio playback with a full text view of your recording so you can listen, read, and annotate at your own pace.

Playing audio

Tap the play button to start. The audio and transcript are synchronized — use the scrubber to jump to any point in the recording. Press and hold anywhere in the transcript to seek audio to that position.

Adding index entries while you read

Double-tap any sentence in the transcript. Onda captures the opening of that sentence — up to 50 characters — and saves it to your Index immediately. You may briefly see text selection handles appear — that is normal. Tap anywhere to dismiss them. The entry is already saved.

For more control, press and hold to select any span of text. A menu appears with three options:

Phrase — saves the selected text to your Index Tag — adds the selection as a topic tag on the recording Mark — bookmarks the position with a preview of the text

Using the Index

Tap Index at the bottom of the screen to open your personal index. Tap any entry to jump the audio directly to that moment in the recording. Your index is yours alone — it is not included when you share a bundle.
